Linda Anderson holds the position of Chief, By-law and Regulatory Services with the City of Ottawa. Her portfolio includes managing the enforcement of Ottawa’s regulatory by-laws including, but not limited to, Traffic and Parking, Animal Care and Control, Zoning and Property Standards.

The administration and enforcement of Business Licensing, including Taxis and Limousines, rests in her portfolio as well.

Over the past decade, Linda has been involved with numerous initiatives intended to modernize taxicab service in Ottawa– security cameras and wireless Point of Sale devices in all taxicabs;the elimination of various

former municipal boundaries to create one service zone and the introduction of a fleet of accessible taxicabs that provides on-demand service to disabled persons.

Linda has worked in municipal government for over 20 years. Prior to the formation of the new City of Ottawa in 2001, she managed By-law Services in the former City of Gloucester and has held positions in several other municipal departments. In 2001, she assumed the position of Manager, Enforcement for By-law and Regulatory Services for the new City of Ottawa and advanced to the Chief’s position in 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and is a qualified elementary school teacher.
