Dear fellow IATR members,

After 36 years of public service with the City of Toronto, I have decided to retire, effective June 30th, 2010, to pursue other goals and begin a more relaxing phase of my life.

It truly has been a pleasure being involved in this association, and helping it grow over the past ten years. The friendships that I have developed will be cherished for many years to come.

As a member and representative of the City of Toronto on the IATR Board of Directors, I have had numerous opportunities to speak before the Association and

present the City’s acclaimed taxicab driver training initiatives. I trust the City of Toronto’s model has helped others to create more effective taxicab driver/owner training programs within their jurisdictions.

As the out-going Vice-President, I can proudly say the Association is stronger than it has ever been and your leadership team has a clear vision of where the IATR will be going in the future and has the ability to make it happen. I encourage every member to take a more active role and continue to promote the IATR and its values to other regulators and jurisdictions.

Unfortunately, I will not be attending the 2010 Conference in Chicago, but hope to see many of you next year at the 2011 Conference in Toronto, Canada.

I would like to thank all of you for the support, encouragement and friendship over the years.

Best regards,
Glenn Steeves
Vice-President
IATR
