Susan Jones is the Chief License Inspector and the Director of the By-law and Regulatory Services Branch for the City of Ottawa
Susan has been involved in municipal law enforcement for the past 25 years and began her career as an enforcement officer working initially in parking and animal control and moving onto the enforcement of business and taxi licensing, zoning, property standards and numerous other regulatory by-laws.
Prior to her appointment as Director in 2000, Susan was the General Manager of By-law and Licensing Services at the City of Nepean, served and chaired on

numerous inter-municipal committees including the Ottawa-Carleton taxi reform committee from 1989-1992, and the Ottawa–Carleton Inter-Municipal Licensing Committee from 1993-2000.
She is the current co-chair of the newly established Municipal Law Enforcement Project Team with the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario and Vice President on the International Association of Transportation Regulators.
Susan has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Law/Criminology) and recently was designated as a Certified Municipal Officer and is a member of several professional associations.

Illegal Taxi Investigation Leads to Numerous Arrests On Thursday June 11th 2009, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Emergency Task Unit, Special Enforcement Unit, Intelligence Unit, Licencing Unit, and detectives from #1, 2, and 3 Districts executed Controlled Drug and Substances Act warrants on several residences in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Thorold and a Provincial Offence Act warrant on one business in St. Catharines.
Enforcement of Illegal Taxicabs Results in 18 Charges
